Let the two numbers be x and y.
Given, their sum x+y = 27 ...(1)
If the smaller is divided by the larger number, the fraction reduces to 4/5
x/y = 4/5
5x = 4y
5x-4y = 0 ...(2)
(1)*4=> 4x+4y = 108 ...(3)
(2)+(3)=> 9x = 108
x = 108/9
x = 12
Substituting in (1), we get
12+y = 27
y = 27-12
y = 15
So the numbers are 12 and 15
