Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Factor the numerator to get:
2(x^2-16)/(x-4)
Factor the numerator again to get:
[2(x-4)(x+4)]/(x-4)
Cancel the (x-4) that is common to
the numerator and the denominator to get:
[2(x+4)]= 2x+8
