Question 236906: Explain the difference between (x-3)^5 and x-3^5

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(x-3)^5 means the entire quantity inside the parentheses is raised to the fifth power.
In other words,(x-3)^5 = (x - 3)(x - 3)(x - 3)(x - 3)(x - 3)

On the other hand, x-3^5 means that -3 is raised to the fifth power alone but NOT x.
