Question 220250: Which of the following expressions represents the product of 3 less than twice x and 2 more than the quantity 3 times x ?
A. –6x2 + 25x + 6
B. 6x2 + 5x + 6
C. 6x2 – 5x + 6
D. 6x2 – 5x – 6
E. 6x2 – 13x – 6
Answer by ptaylor(2198) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1) Three less than twice x=2x-3
2)Two more than the quantity 3x=3x+2
So, (2x-3)(3x+2)--expand using FOIL (First, Outer, Inner,Last)
and we get:
6x^2+4x-9x-6 and this equals 6x^2-5x-6
so D is the correct answer
Hope this helps---ptaylor
