here is another problem from a worksheet
order of operations is confusing.

5{[15(8^2 - 24)/12]} - 6^3

We follow the
order of operations. Only do one thing at a time.

5{[15(8^2 - 24)/12]} - 6^3
5{[15( 64 - 24)/12]} - 6^3
5{[15( 40)/12]} - 6^3
5{[ 600/12]} - 6^3
5{[ 50]} - 6^3
5{ 50} - 6^3
                 250 - 6^3
                 250 - 216
                        34
