4-%281%2Fx%29+=+4x we have a fraction. Get rid of this by multiplying both sides, ie every term by x... this gives:

4x+-+1+=+4x%5E2. Collect all terms to one side, to give

4x%5E2+-+4x+%2B+1+=+0. Now, hopefully factorise:

(2x-1)(2x-1) = 0

so we have 2x-1 = 0
--> 2x = 1
--> x = 1/2
