Here is a direct screenshot of the problems at hand.
I assume that the upward brackets are 'ceiling' and that the downward brackets are 'flooring'. Other than that, I am lost on how to go about deciphering this.

To answer this problem just work with the properties of floor and ceiling functions,

1, 2, 3 are restatements of some of the properties

4, 5 use the property
an integer term can be moved in and out of a floor/ceiling function
