Question 103921: I have spent over two hours trying to figure this problem out. I am sure it is to be solved in matrix form, but I am not even sure what the question is asking for.
Product X, overhead $1,500 and cost $20 each to produce which sell for $30 a piece.
A. R(x) = B. C(x) = C. P(x) = D. Break even x =
Really I do not know what the book is asking and how to go about it. Have you any ideals?
Thank you
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Product X, overhead $1,500 and cost $20 each to produce which sell for $30 a piece.
A. R(x) = 30x
Probably means Revenue from producing x units.
B. C(x) = 1500 + 20x
Probably means Cost of producing x units.
--------------------
C. P(x) =
not sure what this is
-----------------------------------------------
D. Break even x =
Break even means Revenue = Cost to produce
30x = 1500+20x
10x = 1500
x = 150
This means Cost = Revenue when the company produces 150 units.
