In the expression -2+(-10-8 x (-4) x (-3)
which equals= -2+(-10+32) x (-3)
and so on......
How does 8 x -4, which equals -32, become a positive 32 on the next line?

How does 8 x -4, which equals -32, become a positive 32 on the next line?

The parentheses don't match.

Use * (Shift 8) for multiply.
-2+(-10 - 8*(-4)*(-3))
It's -8*-4 = +32
