This movie lesson explains the technique of solving a linear equation with one unknown variable. The teacher starts from the equation containing the variable and constants in both sides of the equation. The steps to get the solution are: 1) add or subtract the variable term to (from) both sides of the equation to eliminate variable in one side; 2) add or subtract the constant term to (from) both sides of the equation to eliminate the constant term in the other side of the equation; 3) to divide the obtained equation by the coefficient at the variable; 4) to check the solution. Note that there is the similar lesson How to solve a linear equation in the written form in this module.
