X+9=14 Step One: When dealing with equations you must do the opisit operation. For this equation we are addinf so we need to sub tract. X+9=14 -9 -9 What you do on one side of the equal sign you must do to the other. Step two: we subtract nine on both sides. The two nines cancel each other out. Now we subtract 9 from 14 which gives us X. X=5 To see if this is corect we can plug 5 in place of "x" and so our problem is 5+9=14 if it dose you know you did the problem right!
