Question 162244: Sorry, I wasn't quite sure what to put this in. _______________ Given the following equation: 1/x = 1/a + 1/b Tommy tried to solve this, giving his answer x = a + b. Prove that this solution can never be correct for x > 0 ______________ I've made an attempt at it, i worked on the first equation until i had x=(ab)/(a+b) Since that value of x is not equal to a + b as Tommy said, my solution says his can't be right.
