Peter says that the following equations are two ways to write the SAME formula. Solve them both for the same variable to decide whether or not you agree with Peter. Explain how you made your decision, based on solving for variables.

I have the following question but I don't seem to be able to do it.
Forty eight marbles are divided into 3 groups. Then, some marbles are removed from the first group and put in the second group so that the number of marbles in the second group is doubled. Some marbles are removed from the second group and put it the third group so that the number of marbles in the third group is doubled and some marbles are removed from the third group and put it the first group so that the number of marbles in the first group is doubled. As a result, there are equal numbers of marbles in each group. Find the number of marbles in each group originally.
