: Question: in 1054ad the supernova that is now the crab nebula was observed, using the velocity of light which is 186000 miles per second, devise and execute a strategy for finding out when the suernova actually occurred, relative to when it was observed..
i found how far the supernova is from earth, its 6000 light years away and i know that if you subtract 6000 from 1054 then its 4946bc and that is probably the answer but i dont know how to put it all together using d=rt or r=dt, can someone please help me???
the questions im trying to answer are as follows:
what strategy is best for finding a solution d=rt or r=dt?
what additional information, if any, is necessary to solve the problem?
