Question 999245: what is the simplest way to understand how to solve this type equation?
-2(5x-1)=4x

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-2(5x-1)=4x
First expand the parenthesis and form individual terms
(-2*5x)-(-2)(-1) =4x
-10x +2 = 4x
Bring all the variables on one side ( here it is x)
-10x-4x=-2
-14x=-2
divide by -14
x= -2/-14
x= 1/7
