use quadratic formula
x = (-b + or - square root(b^2 - 4ac)) / 2a

x = (-25 + square root(25^2 - (4 * 6 * 14))) / (2 * 6) = −0.666666667
x = (-25 - square root(25^2 - (4 * 6 * 14))) / (2 * 6) = −3.5
