Question 981318: use the elimination method to find all solution of the system of equations
2x^2-y^2=17
x^2+4y^2=13
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2x^2-y^2=17;;;; 8x^2-4y^2=68
x^2+4y^2=13;;; x^2+4y^2=13
Add the two
9x^2=81
x^2=9
x= +/- 3
y= +/- 1
18-1=17 in first
9+4=13 in the second.
