Answer by edjones(8007) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4(t+5)-5=6t-13
4t+20-5=6t-13 no more parentheses.
get all the t's on the right and the digits on the left.
subtract 4t and add 13 to both sides. -4t+13+4t+20-5=6t-13-4t+13
voila! 28=2t
divide 2 into both sides. 28/2=2t/2
14=t
Remember to always try to Check your answer.
4(14+5)-5=6*14-13
56+20-5=84-13
71=71
Tip:By adding, subtracing, multiplying and dividing any number to BOTH sides of the equal sign you can get the variable and digits where you want them.
