Question 975794: if R={(1,1), (2,1), (3,2), (4,3)}, find R ^2,R^4 in descrete mathematics

Answer by Edwin McCravy(20056)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
R2 = the set of all pairs of elements of R:

{ ((1,1),(1,1)), ((1,1),(2,1)), ((1,1),(3,2)), ((1,1),(4,3)),
  ((2,1),(1,1)), ((2,1),(2,1)), ((2,1),(3,2)), ((2,1),(4,3)),
  ((3,2),(1,1)), ((3,2),(2,1)), ((3,2),(3,2)), ((3,2),(4,3)),
  ((4,3),(1,1)), ((4,3),(2,1)), ((4,3),(3,2)), ((4,3),(4,3)) }

R4 is the set of all the 4-tuples of of R, which is too much
to ask anybody to write out.
