Without solving the equation prove that x=-2. Equation 3(x-1)+2=5-x
=========
Sub -2 for x
3(-2-1) + 2 = 5 - (-2)
3*-3 + 2 = 7
-7 = 7
x <> -2
=====================
3(x-1)+2=5-x
3x-3 + 2 = 5-x
3x-1 = 5-x
4x = 6
x = 3/2
