Question 97308: i would like to know how to sovle a equation 3y-2(y-1)/=-1 can u show me the processes to get the correct answer.
Answer by elima(1433) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3y-2(y-1)/=-1
I'm not sure why you have the division sign after the parenthesis. I am assuming it is a mistake. So here is the work without the parenthesis.
First distribute the -2;
3y-2y+2=-1
collect like terms;
y+2=-1
subtract 2 from both sides;
y+2-2=-1-2
y=-3
