Question 945646: How would I simplify this expression √3xy*√27xy? This is what I did, I multiplied both √3*√27 and I got √81 and the cubed of 81 is 9. I think my answer would be 9x^2y^2. Am I correct?
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
sqrt(3xy) * sqrt(27xy) = sqrt(3*x*y) * sqrt(27*x*y) = sqrt(3*x*y*27*x*y) = sqrt(81*x^2*y^2) = sqrt(81) * sqrt(x^2) * sqrt(y^2) = 9*x*y = 9xy
