Answer by checkley75(3666)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5/3(Y+2)=1/2-Y MULTIPLY THE LEFT HAND TERMS & FIND A COMMON DENOMINATOR FOR THE RIGHT HAND TERMS. THUS:
(5Y+10)/3=(1-2Y)/2 CROSS MULTIPLY:
2(5Y+10)=3(1-2Y)
10Y+20=3-6Y
10Y+6Y=3-20
16Y=-17 NOW DIVIDE BOTH SIDES BY 16.
Y=-17/16 ANSWER.
