Question 934043: Transform each equation of quadratic type into a quadratic equation in u and state the substitution used in the transformation. If the equation is not an equation of quadratic type, say so.
2x^-6 – 4x^-3 = 0
Answer by josgarithmetic(39617) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Lowest or simplest common denominator is x^6, so .....
....
You only want to find x to make numerator zero, and you need not worry about any solution of x=0.
The equation is not quadratic in type. Any u-substitution neither seems necessary.
and you could rationalize the denominator if you want.
