A = Lw
.....Original width = w and L = 3w
(3w+6)(w+8) - (3w)w= 108
3w^2 + 30w + 48 - 3w^2 = 108
30w = 60
w = 2 and L = 6
......
P = 2L + 2w
P(original) = 2*2 + 2*6 = 16units
