As written it's impossible for 2x to equal 55 AND to equal 3x-5. I'm going to assume that your keyboard is as temperamental as mine, and that it should read:
3x-5=2x+55
Subtract 2x from each side
x-5 = 55
Add 5 to each side
x = 60
