The revenue (in millions of dollars) from the sale of x units at a home supply outlet is given by R(x)= 0.26x. The profit (in millions of dollars) from the sale of x units is given by P(x)= 0.085x-1.1.
What is the cost equation?
What is the break even point?

a) The cost equation(C) is the revenue minus the profit, therefore
C(x) = 0.26x - (0.085x -1.1)
C(x) = 0.26x - 0.085x +1.1
C(x) = 0.175x +1.1
b) break even point is where cost = revenue
0.175x +1.1 = 0.26x
1.1 = 0.085x
x = 12.94 million
