Question 85806: Tutor Can you help me please? How do I divide and simplify this equation?
9y^4 over 6y divided by y^2 over 3
Thank you!!!
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
9y^4 over 6y divided by y^2 over 3
----------------
[9y^4/6y] / [y^2/3]
Invert the denominator and multiply the results:
= [9y^4/6y] * [3/y^2]
Cancel factors that are common to a numerator and a denominator:
= [3y^3/2] * [3/y^2]
= [3y/2] * [3/1]
= 9y/2
