Question 843165: Solve the system by the elimination method. I need to see it worked out. Answer I'm supposed to get is {(-1,9)}
x + 7y = 62
6x - 6y = 48

Answer by richwmiller(17219)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x + 7y = 62
6x - 6y = 48
The solution is not -1, 9
-1+63=62 works in the first equation
-6-54=48
-60=48 doesn't work in the second
x + 7y = 62
6x - 6y = 48
x=14.750, y=6.7500
x =59/4, 14 3/4 y = 27/4=6 3/4
I think you want
x + 7y = 62
6x plus 6y = 48
