Get x by itself. Remember what ever you do to one side of equation you have to do to the other.


13 = 3 - 2x
13-3=3-3-2x <--Subtracting 3 from both sides to get "2x" by itself.
10=2x
10/2=2x/2 <--Dividing by 2 on both sides to get "x" by itself.
5=x
