The x-intercepts are where y=0

When x=2, y=0, so the x-intercept is x=2

Find the x-intercepts.
y = x^2 – 4x + 4
To find the x-intercept let y = 0:
x^2-4x+4=0
(x-2)^2=0
x-2=0
x=2 with multiplicity two
-------------
The graph will touch the x-axis at x=2 but will not pass thru the x-axis.
