A perimeter is a fence. You need 2 pieces of length + 2 pieces of width. P = 2L + 2W
You're given the following information:
P = 21
L = 2W
Enter that information into the equation:
P = 2L + 2W
21 = 2(2W) + 2W
Multiply
21 = 4W + 2W
21 = 6W
Divide each side by 6
3.5 = W
.
If W is 3.5, then L is twice that or 7 <<--
