Question 82662: find the vertex and x-intercepts of the parabola described by the equation:
y=(x+12)(x-2)
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
find the vertex and x-intercepts of the parabola described by the equation:
y=(x+12)(x-2)
-------------
If you let y=0 you find the x-intercepts at x=-12 and x=2.
The x-value of the vertex is half way between -12 and 2 or
at -5,
The y-value is f(-5)=(-5+12)(-5-2) = 7*-7 = -49
Vertex at (-5,-49)
