Question 821830: For what values of k will the system be inconsistent
x=6y+6
kx-3y=6
Work please I don't know how to do this.

Inconsistent systems have no solutions
In the case of linear equations, the lines are parallel but not equal.
Parallel lines have slopes that are equal
x=6y+6
6y=x-6
y=x/6-1
kx-3y=6
kx-6=3y
y=kx/3-2
y=k/3*x-2
y=1/6*x-1
k/3=1/6
6k=3
k=1/2
if k=1/2 then the lines will have the same slope and the lines will be parallel
