Which of the pairs are solutions for the equation x-y=4
(a) (0,4), (-4,0), and (-3-7)
(b) (-4,0), and (-3,-7)
(c) (0, -4) and (-3-7)
(d) (3, 1) and (-4, 0)
with instructions of what was done to get the answer, thank you I am sorry for the first one
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
To see which solutions make true, simply plug in the possible solutions into x and y:
Lets plug in (0,4)
not true. So this eliminates answer a)
Now lets try b)
Plug in (-4,0)
not true. So this eliminates answer b)
Now lets try c)
Plug in (0,-4)
true
Now lets plug in (-3,-7)
true. So this means c) is an answer.
For the sake of the problem, lets try d) as well
Plug in (3,1)
not true. So this eliminates answer d)
So the only answer that satisfies is answer c)
