Answer by waynest(281)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-11 = 1 + 4(8x - 3)
-11 = 1 + 32x - 12
-11 = 32x - 11
-11 + 11 = 32x -11 + 11
0 = 32x
0 = x
check:
-11 = 1 + 4(8(0) -3)
-11 = 1 - 12
-11 = -11
