Answer by harpazo(655) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2y^2-5y-3=0
Factor by grouping.
2y^2-6y+y-3 = 0
Factor 2y^2-6y to be 2y(y-3)
We now have 2y(y-3)(y-3).
We only need one (y-3).
The other factor is 2y+1.
Answer: (2y+1)(y-3)
