Question 785996: a-c
_____=m
x-a
I need to solve for x

Answer by harpazo(655) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a-c/x-a = m
Start by multiplying both sides by (x-a).
a-c = m(x-a)
Apply distributive rule on the right side
a-c = mx-ma
Add ma to both sides
(a-c) + ma = mx
Finally divide both sides by m to isolate x.
[(a-c) + ma]/m = x
