Question 780177: Help me solve
a+ 8 -2 (a - 12) > 0
Answer by algebrahouse.com(1659) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a + 8 - 2(a - 12) > 0
a + 8 - 2a + 24 > 0 {used distributive property}
-a + 32 > 0 {combined like terms}
-a > -32 {subtracted 32 from each side}
a < 32 {divided each side by -1 and changed the inequality sign}
- Whenever you multiply or divide both sides of an inequality by a negative
number, you have to change or flip the inequality sign
