Question 768545: Hi, have been stuck on this one for a long time:
V^2=2K(1/x-1/a), transpose for a
My working is as follows
Find common denominator: V^2=2K((a-x)/ax)
Multiply brackets out: V^2= 2aK-2xK/ax
Multiply by ax: V^2ax= 2aK-2xK
Move 2aK to LHS: V^2ax-2aK= -2xK
Factorise: a(V^2x-2K)= -2xk
Divide by V^2x-2K: a=-2xK/V^2x-2K
According to book this is wrong
Answer given is a=2xK/2K-xv^2
Please help me.
