Question 760416: y=6x
y=5x+7

Answer by DrBeeee(684)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Given:
(1) y = 6*x
(2) y = 5*x + 7
Since y = y set (1) equal to (2) and get
(3) 6*x = 5*x + 7 or
(4) 6*x - 5*x = 7 or
(5) x = 7
Using (1) we get
(6) y = 6*7 or
(7) y = 42
Let's check using (2).
Is (42 = 5*7 + 7)?
Is (42 = 35 + 7)?
Is (42 = 42)? Yes
Answer: The solution point is (7,42).
