a) f(x)=x^3+8x^2+17x+10=0
Use rational roots theorem to solve:
....0...|......1.......8........17.......10...........
....1...|......1......9.........26.......36 upper boundary (all numbers positive)
..-1...|......1......7.........10.....-10 (-1 is a root)
f(x)=(x+1)(x^2+7x+10=0
f(x)=(x+1)(x+2)(x+5)=0
roots: x=-5, -2,-1
