solve the following equation:
8(5x-3)= 136
i have tried doing it here is my working out:
8 * 5x =40x
8*3= 24
40x-24=136
then i added 24 to -24 = 0
and 136+24=150
150/40 = in decimals
but i know the answer is a whole number so please explain this thank you so much
