2x +3 (4x +5)= 1

x-5= 4x+19
4x-5= 2x +17
-4x+8= 2x-16
16+2x =4x-8

Consider the order of operations
1) parenthesis indicate "do me first"
2) execute division and multiplication from left to right, then addition and subtraction from left to right
your problem asks
2x +3 (4x +5)= 1
x-5= 4x+19
4x-5= 2x +17
-4x+8= 2x-16
16+2x =4x-8

1) 2x +3 (4x +5)= 1
2x +12x+15=1 here we multiply (4x+5) by 3
14x = -14 subtract 15 from both sides of =, combine like terms
x = -1 divide both sides of = by 14
2) x-5= 4x+19
-3x = 24
x = -8
3) 4x-5= 2x +17
2x=22
x=11
4) -4x+8= 2x-16
-6x= -24
x=4
5) 16+2x =4x-8
-2x=-24
x=12
