A cyclist leaves a checkpoint and travels at an average of 14mph. A second cyclist leaves one half hour later and averages 18 mph. How long does it take the second cyclist to overtake the first?
-----------------
In 1/2 an hour the 1st cyclist is 7 miles away (14*0.5)
The 2nd cyclist gains on him at 4 mi/hr (18-14)
d = r*t
t = d/r = 7/4
t = 1.75 hours
