Use the slope formula: = m; where:

x2=-9; y2=-2
m = 1
so we have:
= 1
minus a minus is a plus
= 1
multiply both sides by -6
-2 - y = -6
get rid of all those negative mult by -1
2 + y = 6
y = 6 - 2
y = 4
