Call the numbers x and y.


Condition 1: x=y+3. Condition 2:


Substitute x=y+3 into the second equation:


---> (subtract y squared from both sides and subtract 9 from both sides): 6y = 90 ---> y = 15.


x = 15+ 3 = 18
