Question 70428: Evaluate (assume x (twolines across with on line through them) 0)
5x^0
A) 5x
B) 0
C) 1
D) 5
Can anyone help me figure this one out, that symbol confused me of what it means, thank you

Answer by pleasuretohelp(9)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5x^0 means 5 * (x to the power of 0).
Anything that has power of 0 is always 1.
Therefore the x^0 = 1.
So,
= 5 * (x to the power of 0)
= 5 * 1
= 5
