: -5(3w-3)+(1+16w)=0
This question is from textbook introductory algebra
Answer by funmath(2933) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-5(3w-3)+(1+16w)=0
-5(3w)-5(-3)+1+16w=0
-15w+15+1+16w=0
(-15+16)w+(15+1)=0
1w+16=0
w+16-16=0-16
Check by letting w=-16 and see if both sides =.
-5(3(-16)-3)+(1+16(-16))=0
-5(-48-3)+(1-256)=0
-5(-51)+(-255)=0
255-255=0
0=0 We're right!!!
Happy Calculating!!!!
