Add 5 to both sides to get:
7x+8>9x
Subtract 7x from both sides to get:
8>2x
Divide both sides by 2 to get:
x<4

Add 5 to both sides to get:
5x<=2x+15
Subtract 2x from both sides to get:
3x<-15
Divide both sides by 3 to get:
x<-5

(c) A copper conducting wire measures 84 centimeters in length. It is cut into two pieces. The shorter piece is 5 centimeters shorter than the long piece. Find the length of each piece.
Let one piece be of length "x"; Let the other be of length "84-x"
Let "x" be the shorter piece.
EQUATION:
x +5= 84-x
2x=79
x=39.5 cm
84-x= 44.5 cm

If the diameter is 6 meters, the radius is 3 meters
